Building Executive Presence

As leaders develop in their career, their ability to command respect, to build a positive brand and to exert an appropriate level of influence becomes increasingly imperative. It is often an important credibility factor in career progression and can disguise the true potential of very promising professionals if they do not project the degree of self-assurance and presence necessary to operate at senior management or executive level.

This coaching program can be delivered for individuals or groups, and focuses on practical, actionable methods of building executive presence while preserving the authenticity of the individual and attending to what executive presence means in their specific organisational context. The process includes the use of an expert motivational assessment, a leadership 360 assessment and a series of individual, confidential feedback/coaching sessions.

The core content includes:

  • Performative aspects of executive presence – body language, posture, language skills

  • Brand building – assessing credibility factors and self-authorisation

  • Influencing skills – leveraging the three core currencies of influencing

  • Building self-confidence – the foundation upon which future progress is based

  • Authenticity – knowing who you are, being who you are

Program length: 16 hours
Total time commitment (including psychometric feedback, role playing (groups only), coaching sessions (individual, peer or group), presentation preparation): 24 hours
Typical program length: 20 weeks
Format: In-person and remote (for groups and individual coaching)

Minimum/maximum group size: (4/16)

Foundations of Neuroleadership

This introductory program takes leaders through the fundamentals of Neuroleadership, bringing the richness of science and research without becoming too technical or theoretical. Participants are introduced to the SCARF model, the essential of cognition and bias, and develop a deep, practical understanding of how both they and their team are likely to think, feel and behave in normal and stressful situations. The program builds the self-awareness of the leader, helping them to observe their environment more objectively and completely, and to make better and more intentional behavioural choices. It includes presentations by leading industry and academic experts in the area of Neuroleadership.

The core content includes:

  • Foundational topics in Neuroleadership and brain science

  • Mindsets, biases and their practical implications

  • Understanding and leveraging neuroplasticity to rewire habits

  • Developing self-awareness and the ability to objectively observe others

  • Neuroleadership in practice – using case studies and simulations to achieve a first level of mastery

  • Practical approaches, tactics and methods to build more engaging leadership

Program length: 12 hours
Total time commitment (including reading materials, instructional learning sessions, case studies and simulations, and guest speaker presentations): 20 hours
Typical program length: 12-16 weeks
Format: In-person and remote
Individual coaching: No
Minimum/maximum group size: (10/30)

Building Resilience in leaders and teams

Leaders and their teams are increasingly subject to various sources of stress, pressure and anxiety, all of which can affect their personal wellness and ability to perform. We approach this from two perspectives; the ability of people to internally self-regulate more effectively, and the ability of people to cope with external pressures and to bounce back more quickly.

Using an expert psychometric assessment, we help leaders to understand and to address their own vulnerabilities, to become more skilled in understanding and supporting the needs of others, and to create a team environment that is ultimately more robust and resilient. The program includes a 90-minute individual feedback session.

Program length: 8 hours
Total time commitment (including psychometric feedback, readings and team evaluation): 12 hours
Typical program length: 12 weeks
Format: In-person and remote (for groups and individual coaching)
Individual coaching: Yes
Minimum/maximum group size: (6/24)

Facets of Leadership

Leaders are often, quite understandably, focused on immediate tasks and priorities in their roles. This is usually a reflection of more tactical aspects of performance but is less likely to create a more complete leaders or to develop readiness for the next level. Employing a sophisticated behavioural 360 assessment, this short program is designed to build the leadership capabilities of each individual in 3 key areas:

  • Motivational leadership

  • Leader as coach/mentor

  • Leading operational excellence

This program also shifts the focus of the leader towards a more expansive, strategic perspective, building competencies that will be critical to their future career success. The program finishes with a team-specific project, helping the leader to bring the value of the program to their immediate team and context.

Program length: 8 hours
Total time commitment (including psychometric feedback, readings and project): 12 hours
Typical program length: 12 weeks
Format: In-person and remote (for groups and individual coaching)
Individual coaching: Yes
Minimum/maximum group size: (6/24)

Advanced Neuroleadership in Practice

Building upon the foundational program, this next stage advances both the knowledge and practical skills of leaders based on the powerful insights that Neuroleadership can provide. This advanced program is all about Neuroleadership in action. It starts with the use of an advanced psychometric assessment that identifies potential areas of bias in each leader (e.g. mindset bias, assumption bias, estimation and attribution errors, interpretive bias, and such like), bringing a “real world” approach that can be applied to their specific team and organisational context. The process includes a stakeholder mapping exercise where each leader assesses their specific environment and builds/presents an operational plan that puts the skills below into action.

Key skills developed in this advanced program include:

  • Objective, appreciative and emotionally intelligent listening

  • The ability of the leader to observe others without relying on their own assumptions, norms and biases

  • Social cognition – using Conger & Kanungo’s model of charismatic leadership to enhance communication, collaboration and alliance building

  • Driving performance through engagement and empowerment

  • Creating high levels of psychological safety

  • Building values-led leadership – trust, respect and appreciation of diverse people

Program length: 12 hours
Total time commitment (including reading materials, instructional learning sessions, case studies and simulations, stakeholder mapping and operational planning): 24 hours
Typical program length: 12-16 weeks
Format: In-person and remote
Individual coaching: No
Minimum/maximum group size: (10/30)
